BEACHES
As a French holiday region
Brittany
runs a close second to the
Cote d’Azur
with more than 1,000km of sand, far
more than the Rivera offers and less crowded. Within 30 minutes drive the
beaches of Finistere offer white sandy beaches, rocky coves, as well as hill top
walks and rugged coastline. Most of
the beaches nearby are quiet even in the busy times. There are inland
beaches on remote estuaries and alongside local lakes.
The coastal beaches are clean and pollution is rare.
WATER
SPORTS
Water
sports of all kinds can be found on many of the region's coastal areas. Many lakes and inland waterways offer the opportunity to canoe or sail.
WALKERS
The
chance to enjoy the surrounding
Armorique
National park.
A
conservation area with superb countryside, lots
of woodland walks, and footpaths or nearby coastal paths where you can enjoy
superb scenery. Maps will be provided so you get to experience the best of the
area. We have facilities available for storage of boots and drying of coats if
necessary.
CYCLISTS
We
have cycles available free of charge for your use during your stay, or if you
wish to bring your own cycles we have storage facilities available.
For the less ambitious you can cycle the quiet country lanes around our
village. The lake at Brennilis is
only a short distance away where you can cycle around the lake and enjoy the many
picnic places to stop off and take in the peace and tranquillity of the
surrounding National park. For the more experienced rider we will give advice on
the best areas to visit.
ANGLERS
The
lake at Heulgoat 10 minutes drive from us, is famous for carp and perch, also
trout in the river Argent nearby which flows out of the lake.
Brittany
has 9,600km of river bank and shoreline
for recreational fishing, a fisherman’s dream. We will give you help and
information to guide you to the best places.
BIRD
WATCHERS
With
so much vegetation, and some of the local landscape quite unspoiled and
untouched, wild with heather, and gorse on unfarmed areas around the local lake
at Brennilis 5 minutes drive from us. Also the National Park stretching to the
Crozon peninsular, with rugged coastline together with islands and open sea,
some 300 maritime bird species as well as seals and dolphins can be spotted, so
there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy your pastime. We have lots of

GOLF
Brittany
now has over 30 Golf courses. The course at Landerneau, 30 minutes drive, is
certainly one of the most challenging courses in
Brittany
and ranked 13th in all
France
. Built on high ground, the course is thoughtfully laid out with a variety of
holes, some of which are very long. The fairways tend to be tight and the rough
can be punishing, but beginners can warm up on the 9 hole course before tackling
the full 18. The course at

Brest
and close to the coast on the western tip of Finistère, this interesting
course runs along a wooded valley, amongst granite stones. Its natural beauty
has been enhanced by water hazards which have been built and must be crossed on
holes 3 and 8. A challenge to any golfer and after an exhilarating game the
friendly clubhouse awaits!
